Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United side are a strange team to play against.

That’s according to Brentford midfielder Shandon Baptiste, who says the Elland Road club play football in a different way to any other team.

Leeds and Brentford played out an exciting 2-2 draw at Elland Road on Sunday, which Baptiste played a big part in.

With Baptiste playing the full 90 minutes of the game, the midfielder scored the Bees’ equaliser early in the second half, after Leeds had taken the lead through Tyler Roberts.

Although Baptiste’s side then went on to take the lead through Sergi Canos, a late leveller from Patrick Bamford ensured both side claimed a point from the game.

Now it seems as though Baptise found the experience of playing against Leeds at Elland Road, to be a rather unique one.

Giving his thoughts on Leeds after the game, the 23-year-old told Brentford’s official YouTube channel:  “It’s always strange to play these lot because they are different to any other team in the league.

“It was strange. But I felt good, I felt strong, I just came off with a little bit of cramp, first game back and stuff so it’s just building on that, getting fitter, getting stronger and feeling good.

“We dug deep in the first half and then came out in the second half and got the two goals. We played well to get a point.”

These are some interesting comments from Baptiste about Leeds.

There have some suggestions this season that Leeds’ performances have not been as intense as they were during the previous campaign.

However, these comments from Baptiste suggest that may not be the case, and that Bielsa’s side are still a challenging one to play against, despite their position in the table.

As a result, you would imagine there will be plenty of sides who are still not looking forward to playing Leeds, and that could help them improve their results in the coming weeks and months.
