In today’s pre match press conference, Marcelo Bielsa confirms that Leeds will be boosted by the returns of Jamie Shackleton and Pablo Hernandez. Both players have been suffering from medium-term injuries.
This will be welcome news for all at Elland Road as the very matter of having senior options off the bench will be rather novel to Bielsa and his team. In recent games, Stuart Dallas has been employed as a sort-of make shift central midfielder.
This is unlikely to change the starting line-up as Dallas has been doing well in the more recent games in this position, and Helder Costa has also been in fine form on the right hand side. It’s unclear at what stage of recovery both these midfielders are at, they may be given limited minutes towards the end of the game.
Graham Smyth of the YEP also revealed that Adam Forshaw is close to returning to full training. He’s been out with a hip problem since September.
