Despite his goal and relentless performance in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield, Gjanni Alioski has been left out of tonight’s starting-line up vs Hull.
Leeds had struggled to get their teeth into the game and assert dominance until Alioski’s volley from outside of the box found the net a little into the second half.
This is somewhat unsurprising given Bielsa’s persistence with the back four he has chosen in games previous. A back four that has given him the best defensive record in the league so far.
This is as follows: Stuart Dallas at left-back, Ben White at centre-back, Luke Ayling at right-back, and Gaetano Berardi the other centre-back (in for the injured Liam Cooper, albeit).
There were murmurings that Ayling might stay at centre-back, with Dallas at right-back making space for Alioski down the left but this wasn’t to be. There is always the option off the bench.
Leeds host Hull City looking to make it 7 straight wins.
