At long last, the piece I never thought I’d write but in today’s press conference Bielsa hinted that Leeds are inches away from a clean bill of health. Finally.
On Jack Clarke, it’s planned that he will play for the Under-23s this evening and may even feature against Sheffield United depending on how tonight’s fixture goes for him.
On Kemar Roofe and Adam Forshaw, Bielsa said they are in “the final stages of recovery”.
Many people have argued that Leeds are yet to have a full and fit squad to choose from this season as Adam Forshaw was injured for the first part and numerous injuries cropped up from there. The longest of which was probably Gaetano Berardi and Patrick Bamford who seem to be fully involved with first-team activity once again. Not to mention, Izzy Brown who had to wait until QPR away to make his Leeds debut.
It cannot be overstated how important this will be for the final run in of games. When Leeds return from the international break, they cannot afford to drop points as they compete with very in-form Norwich and Sheffield United sides for the elusive automatic promotion places.
