Leeds took another big step towards promotion to the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, beating Blackburn Rovers 3-1 at Ewood Park.

Goals from Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips – the latter a stunning free-kick – put Leeds 2-0 up at half time, and although Adam Armstrong pulled one back with a free-kick of his own just after the break, Mateusz Klich’s strike moments later sealed the win.

Another player who caught the eye for Leeds in Lancashire, was Barry Douglas, with the left-back replacing the injured Stuart Dallas in the Whites’ starting lineup.

On what was just his fifth league start of the season, Douglas was more than impressive for Bielsa’s side, looking assured in defence and even going close to getting himself on the scoresheet with a thumping free-kick that was well saved by Blackburn goalkeeper Christian Walton.

Not surprisingly therefore, plenty of Leeds fans were keen to pay tribute to the full-back as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the win.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say about Douglas’ performance.
