The first ‘deadline day’ rumour involving Leeds United involves Aidan White and a loan move to Barnsley. The Tykes are in need of a new left-back after selling Scott Golbourne to League One side, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It seems that White has been made surplus to requirements at Elland Road. He’s never really reached the potential he once showed, making his debut for Leeds at the age of just 16 years-old. No one still really knows where his best position is, and maybe letting him go on loan to a fellow Championship club where he can play first-team football will help him progress.
I’d like to see White succeed with the club, a club he’s been at since 2002. But from what I’ve seen he just doesn’t seem like he can compete well enough in a team aiming to get back into the Premiership. Hopefully this is the first of many transfers involving Leeds on deadline day.
