Leeds United face Tottenham this weekend with both sides having potential absentees to contend with.

Marcelo Bielsa hasn’t been lucky at all this season when it’s come to keeping his side fit.

Leeds have dealt with a host of first-team players being absent since the start of this term, but the international break has come at the right time.

The same can’t be said about Tottenham.

Antonio Conte will have been looking ahead to this break knowing it was the perfect opportunity for him to get some hard graft in with his new squad before their next game – versus Leeds.

However, he’s seen plenty of his squad jet off to feature for their countries, including Argentina international Cristian Romero.

The centre-back featured last night in the 0-0 draw with Brazil, but was forced off after 53 minutes.

Fabrizio Romano has offered insight into the injury, and it looks as though he’ll be a major doubt for the weekend:

It would be a big blow for Spurs to lose arguably their best defender for a lengthy period.

Conte needs three to operate in his system and that would indicate that he’ll be forced to call upon fringe players to cover.

It’s a boost to us if they come into this game not at full strength, but I’m still fearful of what they can do going forward.

While they picked up injuries this week, Harry Kane hit seven in two games for England.
