Ahead of our upcoming trip to the Valley we asked Daniel Finch some questions about Charlton and his views on the game.

Firstly, how do you see Charlton doing this season and do you consider yourself stronger or weaker than last season?
I think we will steer clear of relegation maybe 14/15th place finish. I think we’ve shown by beating Birmingham,Blackburn and Leicester proving that we have quality that maybe Yeovil and Barnsley lack. I think our squad is a bit weaker but not match, Losing Ricardo Fuller was a big factor but luckily Simon Church has really started well for us so far.

How have you been getting on this season? Obviously, we know the results but sometimes that doesn’t tell the whole story.
We have been unlucky with injuries. 3 best players in Jackson,Kermorgant and Solly have all been injured and has left us with 3 big problems. We started okay I guess and have been unlucky. Defeat at Millwall crushed the fans and players and we hit a dip but we’ve manged 7 hours without conceding now so confidence is high.

Since your return to the championship it seems from the outside that Charlton’s struggles are actually when playing at home, is this a fair reflection and if so why do you think that is?
Yes I agree we have struggled at home. I’m not sure why to be honest. Maybe its the pressure, fans are always behind the team but big teams come and attack at The Valley which we didn’t get in League one.

What’s the general opinion of Chris Powell as your manager?
A hero,Legend,Idol. A Charlton hero all the fans adore him and that really helps when were off form. Hero as a player and as a boss.

Andy Hughes is currently playing for Charlton and he was a cult hero at Elland Road due to his sheer commitment and passion, how is he getting on at The Valley?
Hughesy is full of passion but isn’t a cult hero but is loved by Charlton fans. The fact we have only lost 1 game when he has been in the side tells you so much. His work rate is amazing and Charlton fans love him.

For our traveling fans can you recommend any good pubs to go to and best places to grab some food?
We have a weatherspoon a 10 15 minute walk away in Woolwich or Greenwich also has some lovely restraunts and pubs. The Rose Of Denmark is a pub not far from the Train station and is full of lovely people.

What’s the general opinion of Leeds United from a Charlton Athletic supporter?
I love Leeds. Great fans and brilliant support. A premier league club in lower league football and I’m sure will be back soon.

Who should we look out for as your danger man?
This is a tough one we have creative players like Church and Stewart who can create problems but ill go Dale Stephens. He has a killer ball that can damage defenses easily like at Blackburn he’s got a turn off pace and defends well too. Unexpected shot too that normally are on target

What formation will you likely play?

What will be your likely line up?

Any players from Leeds that you would like to sign?
Austin a power house in the middle with real attacking threat him and Jackson are similar players but Austin has more power. And Obviously Ross McCormack we’ve struggled in front of goal so he will do.

Finally, prediction for the game?
1-0 Charlton Simon Church!
