With the news today that Leeds are set to offer Norwich £4m for the right to bring Jonny Howson home, there’s unsurprisingly a lot of transfer talk going around Leeds. I personally would be fully behind the move to sign Howson. We lack goals from midfield in a major way and Howson would help to fix that problem. I don’t follow the rule of never bringing players back that have previously left, if they’re good enough, get them back. Which brings me onto the main point, Leeds are also rumoured to be interested in bringing Max Gradel back to Elland Road, possibly on loan. It’s no secret that Gradel wants to leave Bournemouth for first team football and with Leeds finally looking like they’re sorting themselves out, we could be an option. I would also be a big fan of the move as although we didn’t lack in numbers out wide last season, we sure lacked in quality.

As long as Monk doesn’t decide to try get Eddie Gray on the pitch again, I think that’d do for bringing back former players. Both Howson and Gradel would improve our squad massively and Howson would more than likely be the captain too. If we can get him for £4m, that is genuinely a steal. We made this quick highlight video of Howson from his time at Leeds –
