Leeds United‘s second half performance in their 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon was not good enough.

That’s according to the club’s CEO Angus Kinnear, who appears to have put the pressure on the club ahead of their clash with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Things had initially started well for Leeds at Selhurst Park on Sunday, with Pascal Struijk opening the scoring after some excellent work from Brenden Aaronson.

But after Odsonne Eduoard had headed the hosts level midway through the first half, the dominance Jesse Marsch’s side had in the game quickly disappeared.

That would prove costly after the break, with Eberechi Eze firing in from the edge of the area to complete the turnaround and secure all three points for the hosts.

As a result, Leeds have now failed to win any of their last five games, which has seen them slide worryingly close to the relegation zone, which appears to be a rapidly growing concern for Kinnear.

Writing in his programme notes ahead of Leeds’ clash with league leaders Arsenal at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, the Leeds surpremo said: “The Premier League once again showed us that the margins between success and failure are incredibly fine.

“But we must accept that the lacklustre second 45 minutes were not up to the standard needed to win matches at this level.”

It is hard to argue with this assessment from Kinnear here.

Leeds were in an excellent position to claim all three points with the way they had started, and taken the lead, against Palace last time out.

To therefore get nothing from the game will be hugely disappointing, but they can only have themselves to blame given how their performance dropped off, something Kinnear appears to be well aware of.

As a result, it does feel as though the CEO has now applied the pressure on those overseeing the football side of things, such as Marsch, to turn it around quickly, and if that does not happen, scrutiny is only likely to increase, meaning the visit of Arsenal may not have come at the best time for Leeds.

Personally, I cannot wait until Kinnear is out of the club even if that means more yanks. Stupid, big mouthed moron who has no real purpose other than to talk sh*te. How about actually providing the manager with a squad instead of getting your sacking excuses in early in the program notes after a bad defeat? Gutless coward.
