Andrea Radrizzani is excited by the future of Leeds United, especially in young stars such as Charlie Cresswell.

Leeds’ Under-23’s were relegated from Premier League 2 last season, but owner Andrea Radrizzani still believes the future is looking good for the Whites.

He took to Twitter upon the release of Amazon Prime Video’s new show – Academy Dreams Leeds United:

Leeds United’s Chairman spoke with Victor Orta on he documentary to voice his support for the development side.

Radrizzani has become less bothered about whether the side win or lose overtime, he said: “I enjoy watching the under-23s a lot. Initially, I got a bit upset when we lose games, but then I start to not care anymore about the result.”

For the Leeds owner, the quality of football is more important, he added: “I just enjoy watching them and I don’t care if we lose or win. They always play very offensive football.”

Speaking with Orta about their favourite players, he believes the captain of the development side last season will go far, he said: “There are a few players I like a lot. For me Cresswell have (has) the blood of a Leeds United player. He really is a leader.”

Can Cresswell become a first-team regular at Leeds?

It is a real shame that the end of last season ended in relegation heartbreak for Leeds United’s development side, but as Radrizanni says: the future is bright.

Given the amount of first-team injuries that Leeds’ better Under-23s had to cover, it is no great surprise that the development side suffered, as many younger youth category players were then forced to step up an age group.

However, The Whites have an exciting crop of players breaking through across Joe Gelhardt, Crysencio Summerville, Charlie Cresswell, Lewis Bate, and Cody Drameh among others such as new boys Darko Gyabi and Sonny Perkins. Many of whom will hope to gain further first-team minutes this season.
