According to journalists – Andrea Radrizzani, an Italian businessman, is in talks to purchase a controlling stake in Leeds United.

Pictures have been floating around that appear to show Radrizzani sitting alongside Massimo Cellino in recent games against Atalanta and at Loftus Road where Leeds lost 3-0 to QPR on Sunday.

Other parties have been linked with buy-outs of Leeds recently, including Red Bull and fans group Leeds Fans United but neither have been able to complete a deal. It looks as if something might well be in the pipeline this time though, despite Radrizzani coming out and saying nothing is “concrete” at this moment in time.

BBC journalist Dan Roan was the first to break the news earlier this afternoon, although he did confirm the deal wasn’t yet agreed.

Phil Hay has also tweeted quotes after he managed to contact Radrizzani.

It is an interesting development coming out of Leeds this afternoon, Cellino has completely divided the fans ever since arriving at Elland Road. Although he might not be leaving Leeds altogether, having someone else in charge might hopefully bring some much needed stability to the club.

Do you think Cellino should sell a majority stake in the club? Let us know in the poll below.

  1. Can’t believe that journalists haven’t yet made this connection between Radrizzani and the Baofeng Group…. earlier this month Radrizzani had the company that he founded bought out by the Baofeng group and took up the post of Baofeng’s sports development executive. Radrizzani is a middleman between the Chinese and leeds. Please let this be true and a takeover is imminent!
