Andrea Radrizzani has confirmed that Marcelo Bielsa will make an announcement on his Leeds United future at the end of the season, with there still a willingness to work together heading into 2021/22.

Leeds have won promotion to the Premier League and enjoyed a fine first season back in the top-flight under Bielsa, who is adored at Elland Road.

However, his preference to work on a one-year rolling contract means he’s not contracted to the club for 2021/22, but Radrizzani has dropped a big hint that the 65-year-old will be sticking around.

Radrizzani has been speaking to La Repubblica recently, discussing a host of topics.

Naturally, the future of his head coach has cropped up, with the club’s Italian owner able to drop the biggest hint yet that Bielsa will be stay put for 2021/22.

He will announce at the end of the season, but the will to continue together is there on both sides.

Despite the upbeat nature of this news, Leeds were beaten 2-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League this afternoon, ending a six game unbeaten run.

Just the type of positive news story you need on the back of a defeat.

Bielsa has taken Leeds to such a good place as a team and as a club. He has rejuvenated the whole city and the club are looking up.

Nobody wants this journey to end at this point and you can’t imagine that Bielsa does either.

Even results like today dangle the carrot and there’s improving to do.

It’s a really exciting thought thinking where Leeds could be in another 12 months under Bielsa.
