Sadly, Leeds’ season has been over for a while now. Despite that, there are still games to be played. Why waste time playing the same old team when we could be testing a few things out with next season in mind? So keeping with that thought process, this is the team we’d go with to face Sheffield Wednesday.
GK – Bailey Peacock-Farrell – BPF has impressed so far despite conceding 5 goals in 2 games, as strange as that sounds. The game tomorrow gives him the opportunity to earn himself a clean sheet, if the defence help him out at all.
Into that defence…
RB – Gaetano Berardi – It’s a shame Coyle isn’t here because he’d have had quite a few games this season if he was. Berardi claimed yesterday that he wasn’t bothered about what Radrizzani had to say. Maybe he should be, he’s been below par this season.
CB – Matthew Pennington – Even if Cooper was injured we may as well see Pennington until the end of the season so Leeds can make a decision on whether to sign him permanently or not.
CB – Pontus Jansson – It may be time to make the most of watching Jansson, I’d be surprised if he’s still here next season.
LB – Tom Pearce – It’s about time we saw him now, all the signs suggest he could be one of the best players to come from our academy in recent times.
Into the midfield…
CM – Vurnon Anita – Not good enough at fullback, lets see if he can still play in midfield. If not Anita, one of the academy lads should be given a go.
CM – Adam Forshaw – It’s about time Forshaw got his first Leeds win, surely?
CAM – Samu Saiz – Everyone deserves to see Samu play at Elland Road, as much as possible.
Into the attack…
RW – Gjanni Alioski – There’s been parts of this season where fans have loved him and just as many where he’s been hated. He needs to find some consistency, either that or maybe try playing left wing-back, like he does for Macedonia.
LW – Stuart Dallas – Dallas has to prove himself for the rest of the season for me, I feel like we know what he is and that’s not really good enough for a promotion contender.
ST – Caleb Ekuban – I personally prefer Lasogga, but if he’s not going to be here next season we may as well try get Ekuban a goal. We do seem to play better football with Ekuban on the pitch, he just doesn’t look like scoring any time this year.
Let us know your teams for the weekend, who deserves to start?
