Plenty of Leeds United fans have been raving about the impact of Pablo Hernandez during their side’s 5-2 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

Hernandez made his long awaited return to the Whites’ squad for the clash with the Magpies, and after his late introduction as a substitute, it didn’t take long for him to make his mark.

Having been included in Leeds’ matchday squad for the first time since his controversial reaction to being substituted in the 4-1 defeat to Leicester at the start of November, Hernandez was brought off the bench with just eight minutes remaining in the game, with Leeds leading 3-2.

The Spaniard then proceeded to play a huge role in taking the game away from Newcastle, first setting Ezgjan Alioski away to make it 4-2, before teeing up Jack Harrison for his stunner that saw Leeds secure that 5-2 scoreline, and seal Hernandez a second assist in just a matter of minutes on the pitch.

That contribution from Hernandez is something that not surprisingly, did not go unnoticed by a number of Leeds fans as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the game.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say about the 35-year-old’s performance.

This was really good to see from Hernandez.

After so long out, and some questions raised about him after his start to the campaign, this was the perfect response from the Spaniard.

It showed that he is still more than capable of competing at this level, and surely means we are going to see a bit more of him going forward this season.

That will no doubt be a relief for those associated with Leeds, not only because of the quality it provides them with, but also because the unceremonious ending to his Leeds time some had feared following that Leicester game, now looks much more unlikely.
