Plenty of Leeds United fans have been reacting to reports that the club are interested in a move for Liverpool’s Neco Williams.

The Athletic have recently revealed that Leeds have shown a genuine interest in Williams over the past year, something which has caught the attention of a number of the club’s fans.

Williams has made 25 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool over the past two seasons, after graduating from the club’s academy.

However, this latest update has claimed that the versatile 20-year-old is keen to leave the club this summer, in search of more regular game time.

It is thought that Liverpool will allow Williams to leave for a fee of around £10million this summer, with Leeds, as well as Aston Villa, Southampton and Burnley, said to have shown interest in the Welsh international during the course of last season.

Perhaps not surprisingly, plenty of Leeds fans were keen to give their thoughts as they took to Twitter to react to those links with Williams.

Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.

You can understand the mix of emotions there is among Leeds fans around this one.

On the one hand, Williams’ relative lack of experience means it he could be a risk for Leeds to take a chance on, given he has yet to really prove himself at Premier League level.

However, at 20-years-old, he does have plenty of time to develop and improve, and the fact he is at a club the size of Liverpool shows the potential he has, meaning it may not be the worst deal Leeds could do.

Even so, with Luke Ayling having nailed down that right-back position, it is hard to see Williams getting to much regular football anytime soon if he does move to Elland Road.

As a result you wonder whether the full-back would perhaps be more tempted by a move elsewhere anyway.
