3 Standout performances from Leeds’ draw v Bristol City

|

For 70 minutes, Leeds were absolutely terrible. The Elland Road crowd did what only they can, transition from ironic cheering to forcing a goal out of the players on the pitch in a matter of minutes. We truly do have special fans, who deserve more than 20 minutes of effort a game.

Despite all that, there were some bright sparks from the game, starting off with Pablo Hernandez.

Pablo Hernandez

Pablo was no different from the rest in the first half, off the pace and seemingly not too bothered. However in the second half as the ironic chants turned into vocal support, Pablo rose to the occasion and made sure Leeds got something from the game.

Both goals were down to Pablo, the first especially came from a beautiful cross that only he could provide. With Samu Saiz finally finishing his suspension in time for Wednesday’s game against Derby, expect Pablo to be even better.

Pierre Michel-Lasogga

It’s getting old the amount of times I’ve said this now but I’m going to say it anyway – Get Lasogga some good deliveries into the box and he will score goals all day long. He may frustrate at time because he has the turning-circle of a bus. However whenever he’s had good service this season he has provided the goods.

If his header at the end had gone in, there would have been broken bones all over the Kop.

Adam Forshaw

I have not been Forshaw’s biggest fan in his games so far, by any means. I thought that was going to continue after the first half today, he passed the ball sideways and backwards a lot but was clearly frustrated and having little effect. However, he got hold of the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half. He started pinging diagonal passes to the feet of Sacko and Hernandez and that’s when we started taking control of the game.

It would definitely help him if he had Vieira next to him, instead of Eunan O’Kane. How he started after his performance in Sheffield, I will never understand.

Let us know who impressed you most during the game yesterday!
