Leeds United’s attention returns to the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, as they travel to The City Ground to face Nottingham Forest.

Bolstered by their January signings, Jesse Marsch’s side will be looking to pick up a long awaited league win here, to keep themselves clear of the relegation zone.

Forest though, have also strengthened in January, and are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games, meaning they will be full of confidence here, as they too aim to avoid being dragged towards the bottom three.

So with this game both an opportunity, and a challenge, for Leeds, we’ve taken a look at two Nottingham Forest threats Leeds will have to be wary of today, right here.

Brennan Johnson

After a slow start to his first Premier League campaign this season, Johnson is starting to come into his own in English football’s top-flight in recent weeks.

The Wales international has scored two goals and provided two assists in Forest’s last three Premier League games, suggesting he is starting to find the final ball that is needed to really make an impact at this level.

Indeed, his pace down the flanks is something that will likely give Leeds’ full-backs plenty to think about as well to prevent him getting into dangerous positions, so you feel the 21-year-old is someone they will have to keep a close eye on this afternoon.

Chris Wood

A different sort of threat to Johnson, Wood is never the less another player Leeds will have to be well aware of at The City Ground.

The on-loan Newcastle man certainly provides a considerable physical presence in the area, where he can be a big threat if he can get onto the end of crosses being sent in by the likes of Johnson.

As a result, you feel Leeds can ill afford to give the New Zealand international too much space on Sunday, although even then, the strength that he possesses means those playing at centre back for Leeds, may have a job on their hands to keep him quiet.
