Leeds United are to be without Luis Sinisterra until after the World Cup as Jesse Marsch confirmed a foot injury worse than first feared.

The Whites are preparing for a home clash against Bournemouth tomorrow, eager to build on their stunning win over Liverpool last weekend.

They did so at Anfield without star attacker Luis Sinisterra, who was nursing a foot injury after the loss to Fulham, and he is out this weekend too.

Marsch confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Sinisterra was to be ruled out until after the World Cup as he suffered a partial tear in a muscle in his foot – known as a Lisfranc injury.

As we cope without the Colombian, we take a look at two players who will have to step up in the meantime at Leeds…

Crysencio Summerville

Needless to say that the man who will be keeping his place in Sinisterra’s absence is the match-winner from Anfield, Crysencio Summerville.

The Dutchman has been in great form in the last few games and really coming of age in attack for Leeds, adding goals to his game after showing flashes of brilliance on the ball previously.

A home game against newly-promoted opposition is a chance for Summerville to really make an impact from the start and help Leeds to another three points.

The chance of a low block from the visitors does mean that the winger might be frustrated at times, but he should fancy his chances against former Leeds loanee Adam Smith.

Willy Gnonto

Backing up the wide positions will be Willy Gnonto, who made his debut away to Liverpool and also had a telling influence on the game.

His cross to Patrick Bamford eventually teed up Summerville’s winner and it already underlines the qualities he has on the ball to add to our front line.

It would be unwise to expect Gnonto to be getting starts right now, but Sinisterra’s absence from the squad pushes Gnonto higher in the pecking order and means we should see him play at Elland Road for the first time in a senior game.
