Leeds United will look to secure their Premier League status on the final day of the season on Sunday afternoon, when they travel to London to face Brentford.

Jesse Marsch’s side know that they must better Burnley’s result to avoid dropping back into the Championship, with the Clarets playing at home to Newcastle.

As a result, Leeds may well need to win to remain in the top-flight, so they are going to want as strong as possible available to try and claim all three points.

So with selection potentially set to prove vital, we’ve taken a look at two pieces of Leeds United team news that emerged from Jesse Marsch’s pre-Brentford press conference, right here.

Patrick Bamford

One possible major boost that Leeds could receive for Sunday’s game, is the potential return of last season’s top scorer, Patrick Bamford.

Injuries have significantly limited the striker’s game time this season, and he has not featured since suffering a foot injury at Wolves in March, although it seems the 28-year-old is now in line for a potential return to action.

Providing an update on the chances of Bamford featuring at Brentford, Marsch told Leeds Live: “Patrick Bamford has looked really good this week, we still haven’t made a final decision on where he’ll stand for the moment on Sunday but he had a day off today inside to recuperate effectively but we’re hopeful we can make the decision in the next couple of days that we can make him available for minutes on Sunday.”

Robin Koch

One other injury concern that Leeds picked up during last weekend’s draw with Brighton, came in regards to Robin Koch.

The defender, who was filling in at right-back on Sunday, was forced off midway through the second half of the game, having apparently sustained some form of blow to his hip, although it seems that will not keep him out of Saturday’s game.

Asked whether Koch would be available to feature at Brentford, Marsch said: “Robin trained today, then everyone else who was available for last weekend will be available here. I think he [Koch] will be ready from the start.”
