Leeds United take on Nottingham Forest this weekend knowing that a win for either side could go a long way to deciding the fates of the two sides this season.

February is going to be a vital month for Jesse Marsch and Leeds as they face plenty of teams in and around them in the bottom half.

Their month starts with a trip to the City Ground where they take on Nottingham Forest, who have risen up the table of late after a handful of good results.

Leeds, meanwhile, are back on a winless run in the league despite progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Here, we look at two changes that Marsch has to consider as Leeds take on Steve Cooper’s side…

Aaronson dropped

Leeds now have a wealth of attacking options to look at under Marsch, so we don’t need to be playing players that are well out of form.

Aaronson falls into that category of player right now, with nothing going right for him in attacking midfield while the likes of Willy Gnonto, Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford all keep up their performances.

Georginio Rutter was very lively on his debut against Accrington Stanley, showing his talent off the right flank, while Luis Sinisterra scored his first goal since September last time out.

The American needs to be taken out of the firing line and used off the bench when the side needs a boost in energy.

Firpo to start?

The left side of defence is another headache for Marsch, with Max Wöber joining to compete with Pascal Struijk, who has been out of sorts recently after penning a new contract.

However, Junior Firpo’s starts in the FA Cup have been very encouraging and perhaps just what the defender needed to demonstrate he can be a useful option for Leeds.

There is an element of risk there to start him in a must-win game where the Whites could be caught out on the counter.

Having said this, Firpo isn’t doing anything wrong at the moment with the limited opportunies he’s getting.
